Product overview
Recombinant Biotinylated Human PLAU/uPA Protein (active form) is expressed in HEK293 cells with a His tag and Avi tag at the C-terminus. It contains amino acid residues Ser21-Leu431, which consists of two chains: Long chain A (Ser21-Phe177) and chain B (Ile179-Leu 431). The long chain A is further cleaved to yield a short chain A (Lys156-Phe 177) and N-terminus fragment (Ser21-Lys155) (UniProt accession: P00749-1).
Product Details

- Protein Length
- Ser21-Leu431
- Expression System
- HEK293
- Theoretical Molecular Weight
- The protein has a predicted MW of 49.3 kDa. Due to protein lysis and glycosylation, the protein migrates to 23-27 kDa, 35-40 kDa based on Bis-Tris PAGE result.
- Purity
- > 95% as determined by Bis-Tris PAGE
- Endotoxin
- Less than 1 EU per ug by the LAL method.
- Buffer / Formulation
- Lyophilized from 0.22 μm filtered solution in 20mM NaAc, 150mM NaCl (pH 5.0). Normally 8% trehalose is added as protectant before lyophilization.
- State
- Lyophilized
- Storage Conditions
- -20 to -80°C for 12 months as supplied from date of receipt. -80°C for 3 months after reconstitution. Recommend to aliquot the protein into smaller quantities for optimal storage. Please minimize freeze-thaw cycles.
- Reconstitution Advice
- Dissolve the lyophilized protein in 20mM NaAc (pH 5.0). Please refer to the Certificate of Analysis for detailed instructions.

Biotinylated Human PLAU on Bis-Tris PAGE under reduced condition. The purity is greater than 95%.
Background
Plasminogen activator, urokinase (uPA) is a secreted serine protease whose Dysregulation is often accompanied by various cancers. PLAU inhibition could suppress tumor growth. Collectively, PLAU is necessary for tumor progression and can be a diagnostic and prognostic biomarker in HNSCC.
