Background
Claudin-6 is a multi-pass transmembrane protein in the claudin family. It is expressed by epithelial cells and participates in tissue development and the maintenance of tight-junction integrity. Human Claudin-6 shares substantial sequence identity with the corresponding mouse and rat proteins.
