Product overview

Recombinant Human CD8 alpha&beta Heterodimer Protein is expressed as a heterodimer of CD8 alpha and CD8 beta by co-expression in HEK293. Subunit CD8 alpha is fused with a hFc tag at the C-terminus and subunit CD8 beta is fused with a hFc tag at the C-terminus. It contains amino acid residues Ser22-Asp182 (CD8 alpha) acidic tail and Leu22-Pro170 (CD8 beta) basic tail (accession: P01732-1(CD8 alpha) & P10966-1(CD8 beta)).

Endotoxin
Less than 0.1 EU per μg by the LAL method.
Buffer / Formulation
Lyophilized from 0.22 μm filtered solution in PBS (pH 7.4). Normally 8% trehalose is added as protectant before lyophilization.
State
Lyophilized
Storage Conditions
-20 to -80°C for 12 months as supplied from date of receipt. -80°C for 3 months after reconstitution. Recommend to aliquot the protein into smaller quantities for optimal storage. Please minimize freeze-thaw cycles.
Reconstitution Advice
Dissolve the lyophilized protein in distilled water. Please refer to the Certificate of Analysis for detailed instructions.

Background

CD8 alpha&beta (CD8αβ) is a heterodimeric form of CD8. CD8α is required for surface expression of CD8β. The extracellular IgV-like domain of CD8α interacts with the α3 portion of the class I MHC molecule. CD8αβ is expressed on human peripheral T cells and functions as a coreceptor and can greatly increase the sensitivity and breadth of antigen recognition by CD8 + peripheral T cells bearing TCR.
