Background
Claudin-18 (CLDN18) is a member of the claudin family that forms tight-junction strands in epithelial cells. CLDN18 is expressed in stomach and lung tissues and has two splice variants, CLDN18.1 and CLDN18.2. Claudin-18.2 is enriched in gastric tumors.
